The using of the digital probe thermometer

Summary

The using of the digital probe thermometer

The digital probe thermometer can be used to measure the temperature of food. In order to correctly measure the internal temperature of cooked food and ensure that the food is properly cooked, all food thermometers must be correctly inserted into the food to be checked.

The probe of the thermometer must be inserted to the depth of its sensing area (usually 2 to 3 inches) to ensure accurate reading. If you are measuring the temperature of a slice of food, such as a burger or boneless chicken breast, the probe must be inserted from the side of the food to ensure that the entire sensing area is in the center of the food.

It should not be put into the food during cooking because the thermometer measures the temperature quickly. The probe digital  thermometers should not be used in ovens, nor should their heads be immersed in water.

Before using the thermometer, the probe must be cleaned with warm water and detergent, and then sterilized and dried; to ensure the safety of food, the thermometer should be sterilized. Put the probe into hot water (at least 77 ℃ or above) for 6 seconds, or wipe it with cotton ball dipped in alcohol, or other suitable disinfectant recommended by the manufacturer.
